A Turkish science-and-technology news report (12punto, 23 October) on Censys's PHP2Shell dashboard: since tracking began on 21 October, 41,433,822 services were found using affected PHP versions, 33,500,304 were still on an affected version in the latest scans, and 7,943,892 had moved to fixed versions, 7,241,171 of them within the last 24 hours; for Turkey the dashboard lists 364,237 services on affected versions, 92.9% of Turkish services that reveal a version, 19th of 233 countries and territories. It stresses that Censys counts services, not servers or institutions, and scores the reported version number, so some patched systems with backported fixes may still appear as affected, and adds the discovery and disclosure background, the AWS honeypot attempt on 17 October and Cloudflare's pre-announcement attempts, and the patched versions.
