It says Kyodo reported on 22 October that Mitsubishi UFJ Bank suspended some services for emergency maintenance, including opening investment-fund accounts on its online banking platform, which the agency tied to the PHP problem, and that MUFG Morgan Stanley Securities separately suspended electronic identity checks for account opening and passkey registration without stating a technical cause. The article stresses that these announcements do not show that the banks were breached or customer money stolen, since a maintenance stop shows availability was affected, not that an attacker got in; it labels its cost discussion as analysis, not loss estimates, and cites Wiz that some exploitation paths could expose passwords, tokens and API keys.
