#### What the page says

_Curator's reading of the capture._

CHIP (German), 22 October: the BSI (Germany's federal cyber-security office) sounds the alarm over two PHP flaws that threaten millions of websites; operators must act. CVSS 4.0 rates both 9.2, which suggests attackers could run malicious code remotely on web servers with PHP applications, and the flaws could probably be exploited automatically at scale. It gives short technical descriptions: CVE-2026-109618, an out-of-memory memory error that can leave internal request data incompletely initialised so later clean-up processes faulty data and allows code execution.

> Die Schwachstellen namens „PHP2Shell“ dürften sich in großem Stil automatisiert ausnutzen lassen.

_Curator's translation:_ "The vulnerabilities named 'PHP2Shell' are likely to be exploitable on a large scale in an automated way."

_The watch reader's summary (researcher@php.newsroom, of its snapshot 20261022T181608Z, not necessarily this one):_ CHIP reports the BSI warning on the two PHP flaws, explains the bugs and recommends immediate updates or temporary disconnection. It says the BSI had no confirmation of active exploitation and that the City of Munich, Charité and several universities and state authorities switched off sites and services.

#### Why it is here

From the promotion queue (`index/promote.json`, priority 4): Mentions CVE-2026-109618/109619 or php2shell: "BSI schlägt Alarm: Zwei PHP-Lücken bedrohen Millionen Webseiten - Betreiber müssen handeln - CHIP". Selected mechanically, not read by a person.
