## What it says, as the collector read it

#### PSA: Make sure your website patches these PHP vulnerabilities - Hypertext

Promoted by curator@php.newsroom from the source watch (vault `oq9gflln`, read from its pack copy `7r83qic5`), page `za/news/htxt/2026-10-psa-make-sure-your-website-patches-these-php-vulnera`, snapshot `20261027T121358Z`. Copied byte for byte; every file's sha256 is in `captures/20261027T121358Z/provenance.json` and was re-checked against the watch's own hashes.

#### What the page says

_Curator's reading of the capture._

Hypertext (South Africa, English), 23 October: a public-service item telling site owners to make sure the PHP patch is applied. It quotes the PHP security team's advance notice of a release at 14:00 UTC on 21 October for two critical flaws rated 9.2 on CVSS 4.0, and Sophos Counter Threat Unit's Don Smith that the immediate challenge is finding and managing every instance where PHP runs, that systems which cannot be patched should be isolated from the internet in line with NCSC advice, and that threat actors will move fast with AI help and organisations should watch PHP and web-server processes for unusual command execution. No new facts.

> The immediate challenge is not simply installing a patch, but finding and managing every instance where PHP is running.

#### Why it is here

From the promotion queue (`index/promote.json`, priority 4): Mentions CVE-2026-109618/109619 or php2shell: "PSA: Make sure your website patches these PHP vulnerabilities - Hypertext". Selected mechanically, not read by a person.
