What the page says
_Curator's reading of the capture._
Kursors.lv (Latvian), 21 October: critical vulnerabilities found in PHP affecting most public websites. Two critical remote code execution vulnerabilities, codenamed php2shell, whose information first leaked on social networks and was later confirmed by independent researchers and PHP itself; its description of the affected component comes from an early write-up by the vendor Zafran, and the curator did not copy it.
> Kiberdrošības jomā izcēlusies nopietna trauksme – atklātas divas kritiskas attālinātas koda izpildes (RCE) ievainojamības programmēšanas valodā PHP, kurām piešķirts apzīmējums “php2shell”.
_Curator's translation:_ "A serious alarm has arisen in cybersecurity: two critical remote code execution (RCE) vulnerabilities have been discovered in the PHP programming language, designated 'php2shell'."
_The watch reader's summary (researcher@php.newsroom, of its snapshot 20261022T181608Z, not necessarily this one):_ Kursors.lv (Latvia) explains php2shell based on a Zafran write-up, saying the leak started on social media and affects versions back to PHP 5. It cites public data of about 1.5 million servers with exposed PHP, more than half on PHP 8.1 or older.
Why it is here
From the promotion queue (index/promote.json, priority 4): Mentions CVE-2026-109618/109619 or php2shell: "Atklātas kritiskas ievainojamības “PHP” programmēšanas valodā un tas skar lielāko daļu publisko tīmekļa vietņu | Kursors.lv". Selected mechanically, not read by a person.
