LEPTIDIGITAL (French), 22 October: a guide to the fixed PHP versions (8.5.12, 8.4.27, 8.3.36, 8.2.35, published 21 October), saying the flaws sit in the PHP engine so updating WordPress, Drupal or Joomla is not enough, that only a PHP update fully fixes both, and that PHP-FPM, mod_php, php-cgi, FrankenPHP and LiteSpeed set-ups are affected with the highest risk under mod_php. It cites Wiz as saying it took control of recent WordPress, Drupal and Joomla images and demonstrated reading the PHP process's memory, which can hold passwords, tokens and API keys, and notes that php.net did not confirm active exploitation although Cloudflare says it sees attack traffic aimed at its customers.
