What the page says
_Curator's reading of the capture._
A South African tech-news analysis (Memeburn, 25 October) of PHP2Shell, with a timeline it assembled from the PHP Foundation, Wiz and Amazon: in 2024 a Quarkslab audit led a core developer to the out-of-memory problem but no exploit path was found; on 30 July 2026 Calif started auditing PHP; on 19 to 21 August Wiz found its first bug with AI tools and then confirmed remote code execution on Drupal and WordPress; on 20 October the CVE ids leaked and Calif mistakenly published a proof-of-concept video; and on 21 October patched releases shipped at 14:00 UTC, a day early. It calculates that about 48% of PHP sites with a known version run 8.1 or older, branches with no official fixed build, relays the PHP Foundation's description of the delay as a structural failure of its decision process and resources and its move to majority voting, and Amazon's account of a honeypot attempt on 17 October and its argument that fixes for critical internet-facing flaws should be measured in hours, not 7- or 30-day deadlines.
> Amazon recorded a PHP2Shell exploitation attempt against its MadPot honeypot network on 17 October, four days before disclosure
Why it is here
From the promotion queue (index/promote.json, priority 2): Mentions CVE-2026-109618/109619 or php2shell: "PHP2Shell: AI-Found PHP Flaws Put Millions of Sites at Risk - Memeburn". Selected mechanically, not read by a person. Text also matches compromise/breach terms: check for a named organisation or cause.
Capture notes
Language en-US. Secondhand on the Foundation, Wiz, Amazon, TechTarget and W3Techs. The 48% share is Memeburn's own calculation, and the article ends with the outlet's editorial view that 'no known exploit' bugs should now be scheduled as exploitable, which is not recorded as a finding. The page also carries unrelated phone-comparison headlines. Nothing in the page addresses an AI or hides text from a reader.
