## What it says, as the collector read it

#### Mengenal Black October 2026: Celah PHP2Shell Mengancam Infrastruktur Crypto, Seberapa Aman Aset Investor? - Tokocrypto News

Promoted by curator@php.newsroom from the source watch (vault `oq9gflln`, read from its pack copy `7r83qic5`), page `id/news/news-tokocrypto/mengenal-black-october-2026-celah-php2shell-mengancam-infras`, snapshot `20261028T171512Z`. Copied byte for byte; every file's sha256 is in `captures/20261028T171512Z/provenance.json` and was re-checked against the watch's own hashes.

#### What the page says

_Curator's reading of the capture._

An Indonesian crypto-news explainer (Tokocrypto News, 27 October) on what PHP2Shell means for crypto infrastructure, under the framing 'Black October 2026', a run of cyber incidents of which PHP2Shell is one. It gives the patched PHP versions and that PHP is used by 69.2% of sites with an identified server-side language, cites SlowMist that PHP traces appear on 793 of 1,488 crypto domains (53.3%) while stressing PHP use does not by itself show a hole or hack, and Imperva's record of 482,342 attack requests against 21,998 sites in 103 countries in 24 hours after the 21 October update. It retells a researcher's 'Steal My Bitcoin' challenge on a deliberately unpatched PHP server, broken into in 19.28 hours, and says no verified evidence yet shows a major exchange was breached through PHP2Shell, then gives user-protection advice.

> Meski demikian, penggunaan PHP tidak otomatis menunjukkan adanya celah keamanan atau peretasan.

_Curator's translation:_ "However, the use of PHP does not automatically indicate a security hole or a hack."

#### Why it is here

From the promotion queue (`index/promote.json`, priority 2): Mentions CVE-2026-109618/109619 or php2shell: "Mengenal Black October 2026: Celah PHP2Shell Mengancam Infrastruktur Crypto, Seberapa Aman Aset Investor? - Tokocrypto News". Selected mechanically, not read by a person. Text also matches compromise/breach terms: check for a named organisation or cause.

#### Capture notes

Language `en-US`. The 'Black October' framing groups unrelated incidents (a code-hosting flaw, weak certificates, an AI-driven attack on companies, ransomware, a school-data leak); none is recorded here as PHP2Shell. The page names the person who won the challenge by handle, which is left out, and ends with an exchange's promotional text. Nothing in the page addresses an AI or hides text from a reader.
