What the page says
_Curator's reading of the capture._
A personal essay on note.com (Japanese) by the author 'yoshi', 22 October, arguing that AI shortened not the discovery of the PHP flaw but the time to demonstrate it was exploitable. Drawing on what it says are the Wiz Research, Calif and PHP primary pages, it says the weakness traces to PHP 5.4 (2012); that a related bug (PHP bug #78876, CVE-2019-11048) was reported in 2019 and handled as a disk-filling denial of service; and that a 2024 OSTIF/Quarkslab audit found a related out-of-memory issue but did not prove it exploitable, so it went unfixed. It quotes Wiz that AI cut the work from months by a world-class team to about one researcher-week, and says Calif and Wiz found the issue independently in August. It says it leaves out attack steps.
> AIが縮めたのは「発見」ではなく「悪用できると実証するまでの時間」だった。
_Curator's translation:_ "What AI shortened was not 'discovery' but the time until exploitability was demonstrated."
_The watch reader's summary (researcher@php.newsroom, of its snapshot 20261022T171501Z, not necessarily this one):_ note.com essay (Korean translation of a Japanese author, 'yoshi'). It argues AI shortened the time to prove exploitability rather than the discovery itself, tracing bug #78876/CVE-2019-11048 (2019), the 2024 OSTIF/Quarkslab audit and the Calif/Wiz timelines.
Why it is here
From the promotion queue (index/promote.json, priority 4): Mentions CVE-2026-109618/109619 or php2shell: "何年も使われたソフトのバグは、もう見つかっていると思っていないか——PHP2Shellで変わったのは「コード」ではなく「調べる力」だった|yoshi". Selected mechanically, not read by a person.
