What the page says
_Curator's reading of the capture._
Notebookcheck (Spanish edition, a translation of the English article by Darryl Linington), 26 October: the fixes cover only PHP 8.2 to 8.5, leaving many exposed hosts on versions with no official fixed release. It cites a Shodan count published by Mallory on 20 October of about 884,000 internet-exposed hosts indicating an unsupported PHP version, 59% of the roughly 1.5 million that reveal a version (about 740,000 more hide it), and CybelAngel's breakdown: PHP 5.x about 369,000, 7.x 329,000, 8.0 and 8.1 186,000, against 612,000 on 8.2 to 8.5 which had no fix when counted. It says these are banner counts, not confirmed vulnerable sites, that PHP published minimal source backports for 7.4, 8.0 and 8.1 but nothing for 5.6 or 7.3 and earlier, that distributions such as Ubuntu may patch while keeping the old version string, and that CISA advised disconnecting PHP-based systems that cannot be updated or run unsupported PHP 8.1 or older.
> Las correcciones de PHP2Shell solo abarcan PHP 8.2 a 8.5, lo que deja a una gran proporción de los hosts PHP expuestos a internet en versiones para las que nunca se publicó una versión oficial con correcciones.
_Curator's translation:_ "The PHP2Shell fixes cover only PHP 8.2 to 8.5, leaving a large proportion of internet-exposed PHP hosts on versions for which no official fixed release was ever published."
