It says, citing the Associated Press, that the two flaws, which AI helped to find the risks of, caused disruptions to some government websites and services in the UK, Finland and Japan; that the FBI warned of remote code execution; that PHP's fixes shipped on 21 October (8.2.35, 8.3.36, 8.4.27, 8.5.12) and ENISA urged organisations to inventory PHP systems and prioritise internet-facing servers. It also says early signs of one of the problems had been known since 2024 and that the PHP project acknowledged the delay in handling it reflects a weakness in how security reports are processed and prioritised; no source is named for that last statement.
