What the page says

_Curator's reading of the capture._

Business+IT (Japanese), a feature on the PHP flaws with the PM's alert in its headline; the capture holds the free part, the rest is behind a registration wall. It says one trigger was a post to Hacker News ahead of the planned disclosure, rates 9.2 on CVSS 4.0, describes the two memory-management flaws, notes that mod_php has a demonstrated path from an unauthenticated request before application code runs while other set-ups need other conditions, and gives W3Techs (October 2026) figures: PHP on 69.3% of sites whose server-side language is known; PHP 8 65.2%, 7 27.0%, 5 7.7% of those, so at least about 35% are on end-of-life lines. In Japan from the afternoon of 21 October BASE, Kodomon, pixiv, Niconico, game companies and Sakura Internet suspended all or part of their services; BASE and Kodomon named the PHP flaw; the Ministry of Finance paused related web content.

> 日本国内では21日午後から、BASE、コドモン、pixiv、ニコニコ、ゲーム各社、さくらインターネットなどがサービスの全部または一部を停止し、緊急メンテナンスに入った。

_Curator's translation:_ "In Japan, from the afternoon of the 21st, BASE, Kodomon, pixiv, Niconico, game companies, Sakura Internet and others suspended all or part of their services and went into emergency maintenance."

_The watch reader's summary (researcher@php.newsroom, of its snapshot 20261022T181608Z, not necessarily this one):_ Business+IT (SB Creative): in Japan, from the afternoon of 21 Oct, BASE, Codmon, pixiv, Niconico, game firms and Sakura Internet stopped all or part of their services. The Ministry of Finance suspended web content. PM Takaichi made an unusual appeal. W3Techs October data: PHP used by 69.3% of sites; versions 8.x 65.2%, 7.x 27.0%, 5.x 7.7%.
