What the page says

_Curator's reading of the capture._

Stéphane Larue News (French), 21 October: France's Ministry of the Interior took the prefecture websites offline on Wednesday 21 October as a precaution, in a statement reported by Reuters, while waiting for a security fix for the software framework the sites run on. The sites of the Nord, Gironde and Rhône prefectures showed only a 'maintenance in progress' page, and the Paris police prefecture portal returned a 503 error when checked; the statement does not say how many sites or when they return. It says PHP's developers had announced two critical vulnerabilities on 20 October and published the fix on Wednesday at 14:00 UTC (16:00 in Paris), that Belgium and the Netherlands also disconnected public sites, and that vehicle registration, passports and residence permits are handled on other state platforms.

> Le ministère de l’Intérieur indique les avoir mis hors ligne à titre de précaution, dans une déclaration rapportée par Reuters.

_Curator's translation:_ "The Interior Ministry says it took them offline as a precaution, in a statement reported by Reuters."

_The watch reader's summary (researcher@php.newsroom, of its snapshot 20261022T181608Z, not necessarily this one):_ Stéphane Larue's site (an AI-written article) reports prefecture sites cut by the Interior Ministry. The Nord, Gironde and Rhône prefectures showed 'Maintenance en cours' and the Paris Préfecture de police returned HTTP 503. It lists alternative state portals (ANTS, ANEF).
